The R2.5 comes in both wall and ceiling insulation. It's a popular product for walls, and as ceilings where's it's used to increase the total R-value of ceiling systems by laying on top of existing insulation. 

R2.5 wall insulation comes in both high-density (HD) as well as soundbreak. This allows the insulation batts to sit flush between standard wall studs, while still providing a high level of thermal and acoustic insulation.
